Lifetime Recreation & Outdoor Pursuits (#8223)
This course provides opportunities for students to develop competency in five or more lifelong recreational and outdoor pursuits for enjoyment and challenge. Students in this course participate in activities that promote physical literacy, respect for and connection to nature and the environment, and opportunities for enjoyment for a lifetime. Students will experience opportunities that enhance self-worth and support community engagement.

Lifetime Fit & Wellness Pursuits (#8222)
This course offers current approaches for the foundation of personal fitness, physical literacy, lifetime wellness, and healthy living. Students in this course will apply the knowledge and skills to demonstrate mastery of the concepts needed to achieve lifetime wellness. Students will participate in a variety of physical activities for attaining personal fitness and lifetime wellness.

Skill-Based Lifetime Activities (#8221)
This offers students the opportunity to demonstrate mastery in basic sport skills, basic sport knowledge, and health and fitness principles. Students experience opportunities that promote physical literacy and lifetime wellness. Students in this course participate in a minimum of one lifetime activity from each of the following five categories during the course: Target games; striking and fielding games; fitness activities; rhythmic activities; Innovative games and activities with international significance.

Athletics/Physical Education
These courses are expected to develop health-related fitness and an appreciation for teamwork and fair play. Students learn specific related skills and participate in a variety of team sports. These courses count as a PE equivalent.

Activity
OFF-CAMPUS PE:
Some high school students in the San Antonio Independent School District participate and compete in Olympic-level sports that are not offered within the Physical Education and/or Athletic Department. Interested students may visit the Off-Campus Physical Education website for more information and eligibility. Check the website for application deadlines. All students must be approved in order to be enrolled in this course. Off-Campus Physical Education satisfies physical education requirements in high school and many counts as a State Elective Credit in High School.
